Are you a recent graduate looking for work in the tourism industry?
If so, prepare your requirements because thousands of career opportunities in the tourism sector are available for you.
Mark your calendars for March 30 to 31, 2023, and head to the Limketkai Center Atrium in Cagayan de Oro for the Northern Mindanao Leg of the “Trabaho, Turismo, Asenso!” Philippine Tourism Job Fair.
This job fair is a partnership between the Region X offices of the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). The main government offices in Manila set the memorandum of agreement (MOU), which aims to bridge employment opportunities for the tourism industry and regenerate the workforce to recover as we emerge from the pandemic.
“The ‘Trabaho, Turismo, Asenso’ Job Fairs will help our fellow Filipinos find jobs while helping the accommodation and services sectors address workforce shortages, resulting in the continued recovery of the tourism industry as a whole,” said Secretary Frasco in her speech during the MOA signing.
The first leg of the job fair was successfully conducted in September 2022, with over 9,000 job seekers participating in Pasay, Cebu, and Davao. Some were recruited on the spot, while others were nearly hired.
This March, it’s your chance to land employment in the tourism industry. Positions available will be in administration, accounting, marketing, human resources, front office, support staff, MICE operators, food and beverages, kitchen or food production, and housekeeping. So there’s an opportunity not just for tourism graduates but for everyone. Job seekers outside Cagayan de Oro are also welcome to join and apply.
Before the job fair, make sure to have multiple copies of your resume, an application letter, 2×2 ID pictures, and a pen in case employers ask you to fill out forms. Prepare as many printed copies as possible since there’s no limit on the number of applications you can submit during the two-day job fair in Cagayan de Oro.
We wish you all the best in your applications!
