Filipino-American Friendship Day in CDO

Short History

The Filipino-American Friendship Day is celebrated every 4th of July in commemoration of the Philippine Independence Day from the United States of America. Our country was under the U.S. regime from 1898 to 1946. Former President Diosdado Macapagal moved the Philippines Independence from the 4th of July to June 12, our independence from Spain.

In Cagayan de Oro, SM City commemorated the day with an exhibit.
