PBA Legends inspire Kagay-anons to Achieve Greatness

Cagayan de Oro – PBA Legends Alvin Patrimonio, Benjie Paras, Jerry Codinera, Jojo Lastimosa, Johnny Abarrientos and Ronnie Magsanoc inspires Purok 5, Barangay Puerto during the Court of Inspiration turn over last October 7 – 10AM to 12PM. Alaxan FR partnered with Puerto residents to make the basketball court accomplished through there sweats, pain and hard work. During the turn over ceremony, the Legend Marker was also visible in the vicinity to inspire Kagay-anons to reach triumph as the PBA Legends. Cagayan de Oro Embraces EcoBags

To reduce the use of plastic bags and to promote the city's campaign for the environment , a Memorandum of Agreement for the "CdeO EcoBag", an initiative of the Environment & Natural Resources Committee and the Social Services Committee, was jointly signed by City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano and representatives of the major malls and supermarkets (like Ororama, Gaisano, Robinsons, Savemore and SM City) in the city during this week’s flagraising ceremony at the City Hall. This City Ordinance #12395-12 is dubbed as the City Ecobag Project. The supermarkets and major malls around Cagayan de Oro will no longer give out plastic bags or containers to their customers unless they would opt for it. Emano, assisted by Assistant City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer Eng’r Armen Cuenca, ceremonially switches on the Cagayan de Oro Weather Station installed at City Hall’s rooftop during this week’s flagraising ceremony last September 17, 2012. CDO “Top Performing City” Despite of Sendong

Cagayan de Oro continued it economic rise regardless the devastation caused by Typhoon Sendong (TS Washi). The report sent by the Bureau of Local Government Finance coursed through the Honorable City Mayor Vicente "Dongkoy" Emano announcing CDO as the Top Performing City in the region. The detailed report states that Cagayan de Oro City came through and leveled up above the rest after collecting P332.1M in business taxes; P71.2M in fees and charges; and P30.7M in economic enterprises. “Dako kining garbo ug dungog sa dakbayan kay bisan man tuod og nakasinati kita og mapa-it nga katalagman, apan nakabangon ra gihapon ang dakbayan ug naangkon kini nga kadungganan,” the City Mayor said.
